INSTALLATION OVERVIEW

Loughborough University and Mark got in touch with us. Mark had seen an install in another site and wanted something similar for some of his studios at Loughborough.
After meeting with Mark it became clear that the solution needed to be flexible and effective. Therefore the lighting design we installed consisted of 80 metres of LED tape. 8 LED wall wash fixtures and control. The install was slightly complex as the two studios were next door to each other. There was a removable partition wall these two studios became one studio for bigger classes. This meant the lighting had to work as two separate studios and also a one larger studio.
We controlled the lighting with chamsys, this was installed on a PC in the Rack area and was controlled by iPads. As a result the instructors could control the class whilst teaching. We had custom buttons for each studio created namely ‘studio 1’, ‘studio 2, & ‘both studios’. Therefore the instructors could control the lighting in each studio separately or all together for the bigger classes.
This was a great project for SSL Live and we look forward to working in partnership with Loughborough University again.
